These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the operator of What's For Dinner?! ("we," "us," "our"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The core planner (building a weekly plan, browsing recipes, using the grocery list and budget tools) doesn't require an account and has no age restriction beyond this: you must be capable of forming a binding agreement in your jurisdiction, or be using the app with a parent or guardian's involvement if you're not.
Creating an account (required for Family Plan) requires that you be at least 13 years old. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or guardian is aware of and consents to your use of Family Plan. We don't knowingly collect account information from children under 13.
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. Let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app.
Family Plan links your account to a shared plan using an invite code. Treat that code like a house key: anyone who has it can view and edit the shared plan, grocery list, and favorites. You're responsible for who you share it with. Leaving a Family Plan disconnects your device without deleting the shared plan for everyone else still on it.
Recipes, diet-filter tags (such as Vegetarian, Vegan, or Keto), and nutritional or budget information in the app are provided for general planning convenience only, on an "as-is" basis. We don't guarantee that any recipe or filter is accurate for your specific dietary restriction, allergy, or medical condition. If you have an allergy, intolerance, or medical dietary need, always check ingredients yourself before eating or serving anything; don't rely on a diet filter alone.
Any custom recipe you create in the app is stored on your own device (or, if you're on a Family Plan, synced to that shared plan) for your own use. You're responsible for making sure anything you type in, including recipe text you paste from elsewhere, is yours to use and doesn't infringe someone else's rights.
Don't use the app to do anything unlawful, to abuse the Family Plan sharing feature to access a plan you weren't invited to, to interfere with the app's normal operation, or to attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
What's For Dinner?! offers two paid subscription tiers, billed and processed entirely through the Apple App Store: Monthly Premium at $5.99/month, and Yearly Premium at $49.99/year. New subscribers get a 14-day free trial on either tier before any charge occurs. Either tier unlocks unlimited Auto-Build, the full recipe library, and Family Plan, on top of everything already included in the free core planner.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If you start a free trial, nothing is charged until the trial ends; your Apple ID account is then automatically charged the full subscription price unless you cancel before the trial period is over. Outside of a trial, payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Renewal is charged within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the then-current price. You can manage or cancel your subscription, including during a free trial, at any time in your device's Settings app (under your Apple ID, then Subscriptions) or through the App Store. Subscriptions are subject to Apple's own billing, refund, and cancellation policies, and any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited immediately if you upgrade, downgrade, or otherwise change your subscription during that trial.
You can stop using the app or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to accounts that violate these Terms, such as abusing Family Plan access or attempting to compromise the app's security.
The app's design, code, and recipe content are owned by us. These Terms don't grant you any rights to that content beyond normal use of the app itself.
The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including anything related to relying on recipe or diet-filter information. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
We may update these Terms as the app changes, for example once paid subscriptions launch. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the app will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to the address on our support page.
