Ingredients

  • Water 3 liter
  • Black tea bags (Assam, or English Breakfast are acceptable) 12 bags
  • Cinnamon Sticks 4 sticks
  • Fennel Seeds 1 tsp
  • Whole Star Anise 1 unit
  • White Sugar 2 cups
  • Vanilla Extract 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1 pinch
  • Oat Milk (Or your alternative) 2 quarts

Steps

  1. Simmer water and all whole spices, uncovered for 25 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat. Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. If you steep too long, the tea becomes bitter.
  3. Strain out the tea bags and spices completely.
  4. While hot, stir in sugar until fully dissolved.
  5. Add vanilla and salt. Cool and refrigerate.
  6. To serve: mix 1/2 cup concentrate with 1/2 cup hot milk (can use oat milk or any milk). I like to mix both cold and put in the microwave for 2 minutes. This is where the oat milk ingredient is used.. it's not used to make the concentrate**.
